Reflection
James uses the image of light from the sun — but unlike the sun, which creates shadows as it moves, God is a Father who never turns away or shifts, so His gifts never cast a shadow of uncertainty. Every good thing in your life — relationships, abilities, opportunities, ordinary blessings — traces back to Him. Recognizing the Giver behind the gifts is the beginning of true gratitude.
