“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good... for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
Luke 6:45
Reflection
Jesus says our words are diagnostic — they reveal what is actually inside us, not just what we intend to project. Sustained, loving speech does not come from willpower; it comes from a heart that has been filled with good things. The way to guard your mouth is not to bite your tongue more often, but to fill your heart more deeply — with Scripture, with prayer, with gratitude, with time in God's presence.
Today's Prayer
“Lord, fill my heart so full of good things that what overflows in my words and actions today reflects You.”
