“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”

Reflection
This is one of Scripture's clearest invitations — and one of its most symmetrical promises. The initiative can start with us, but it does not end with us alone. Every step toward God is met with Him moving toward us. Distance from God is never His doing; He is always as near as our next sincere prayer. The gap only exists when we stop drawing close.
