Reflection
This psalm was written after David had hit a genuine low point — he feigned madness to escape a king who wanted him dead. Out of that desperate place he penned one of Scripture's most tender promises: God is not far from the brokenhearted; He is nearest to them. The world often withdraws from weakness, but God moves toward it. If your heart is broken today, you are not alone — you are in the place where He draws closest.
