Reflection
Jesus made this declaration in the Temple treasury, not far from where the great menorahs blazed during the Feast of Tabernacles. His audience would have felt the weight of the image immediately: He was claiming to be the fulfillment of every lamp Israel had ever lit. Darkness cannot coexist with light — wherever Jesus is truly present and followed, confusion and fear have no permanent home.
