“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
James 5:16
Reflection
James ties two things together that we often try to separate: authentic community and fervent prayer. Healing — spiritual, relational, and often physical — flows through the combination of honest confession and intercession shared among believers. There is no healing in hiding. The vulnerable community James describes is not a sign of weakness; it is the atmosphere in which God's power moves.
Today's Prayer
“Lord, give me the courage to be honest with trusted friends today and the faith to pray fervently for those who need Your healing.”
