God did not suggest courage to Joshua — He commanded it. This tells us that courage is a choice, not a feeling. Joshua likely felt afraid; the command assumes he did. Courage is not the absence of fear but the decision to act despite it, grounded in the promise that God is present wherever the journey leads. His presence is the reason for the command.
